Age 82, passed away Monday, April 19, 2004 at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Appleton. Evie was born in the town of Center on March 8, 1922, daughter of the late George and Emma (Frederick) Feistel. On February 22, 1940, Evie married Howard Brinkman; he preceded her in death in 1993. For many years, Evie worked for the Appleton Woolen Mills. She was also a longtime active and faithful member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton. Evie was an avid card player, and always enjoyed visiting with her neighborhood friends.
She is survived by three sons: LeRoy Brinkman, Gerald (Shirley) Brinkman, and Donald (Linda) Brinkman, all of Appleton; a son-in-law: Ken Gradl of Antigo; nine grandchildren: Sherry Brinkman, Brenda McCoy, David Brinkman, Wendy (Chris) Sewell, Jon Brinkman, Michael (Michelle) Brinkman, Susan (Bob) Kirk, Jim (Elaine) Gradl, and Julie Gradl; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Mary Feistel and Mabel Feistel; a brother-kin-law: Whitey Blazek. Evie was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Betty Gradl, and nine brothers and sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Daniel Helwig of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until the hour of the service. A memorial fund has been established in Evelyn’s name.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the entire staff at County Terrace Assisted Living for making Evie at home for the past year – you made her so comfortable. Thanks also to the wonderful nurses at Affinity Hospice; you took wonderful care of mom for us. Thank you all so very much.
