Evelyn A. Barnetzke
Age 91, of Appleton, passed away after a brief illness on September 27, 2003 at Franciscan Care Center. She was born in Appleton on May 31, 1912 to the late Joseph and Mary (Giesbers) Grassl. Evelyn worked at Sears Department store in the accounting department and also for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue as a clerk. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. Her later years were spent in prayful service to God. Her faith was unfailing.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Jane Barnetzke, Appleton; sisters: Virginia Zuehlke, Appleton, Leone (Roger) Trask, Appleton; brother, Edmund (Pat) Grassl, Appleton; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Grassl; she is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Elmer Grassl.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (222 E. Fremont St.) with Father Robert Karuhn officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, September 29, 2003 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at the funeral home. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established.
