Eve Christine Allar age 74, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Eve was born to Myra and George Hatzinger, Sr, the fourth of their ten children. She was born in West Allis and lived there until her 6th grade year. The family then moved to Monona, where she graduated from high school.
Following high school, Eve worked at a hotel, The Ivy Inn, in Madison where she met the man who was destined to be the love of her life Raymond Allar. Following a trip by Ray to the West Coast, Eve and Ray rekindled their friendship which soon turned into romance, and in 1971, Eve and Ray were married. The couple had two children and raised their family in Middleton. In 2014, Ray and Eve moved to Appleton to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Eve loved to spend time with her family, and her siblings, husband, children, and grandchildren were the center of her world. Cookouts, bonfires and watching their grandchildren play sporting events was highlights. Best of all were the “parties” that happened often at Andy and Wendy’s house.
Eve loved being part of the action, and for her, there was nothing like watching live sporting events!
“Busha” -or Grandma as she was affectionately known-had faith that was paramount for her, and she shared it freely with her grandchildren (and her children) whenever they had faith questions.
“Busha” loved family weekends. Alex was an integral part of Eve and Ray’s meeting new people when they arrived in Appleton (“he knows everyone.”). She and Ray developed a network of friends and neighbors with whom they spent time sharing books, meals and adventures. Eve made friends easily and enjoyed her time with those dear friends.
Eve is survived by her husband Ray, children Andrew (Wendy) Allar and Sarah Tapp; grandchildren: Alex Allar, Samantha (fiancé Ryan Holte) Muench, Savannah (Cody Stoeger) Muench, and Haley (Aaron) Eyestone and great granddaughter Carly Jo. She is further survived by siblings: Joan (Thomas) Schmit, Christine Starr, Constance (John) Tolley, Peter Hatzinger, Elizabeth (Todd) Achterberg and Ann (Michael) Hartnett, sister-in-law Sandra Hatzinger, brother-in-law Neil Borchert, god daughter Heidi Gottschalk as well as many other nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in passing by her parents, brother George Hatzinger Jr., two sisters, Mary Britt and Kathryn Borchert; and niece Alicia Hatzinger and nephew Daniel Britt.
A funeral mass for Eve will be held Saturday March 11, 2023, at 11:30 am at St Pius X Catholic Church with Fr Jim Jugenheimer presiding. Friends and family may gather at the church from 9:30am until the start of mass. She will be laid to rest at St Joseph Cemetery, Appleton at a later date.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St Jude Children’s Hospital or Food for the Poor in Eve’s name as they were two of her favorite charities.
