Wichman, Eugene R.

Eugene R. Wichman, age 66, of Appleton, died unexpectedly Thursday evening, June 7, 2007. He was born June 26, 1940, to the late Henry T. and Laniece B. (Evans) Wichman, in Appleton, where he was a resident all of his life. Eugene was associated with the printing industry all of his working life. He enjoyed books, music, biking and had biked across Ireland and across Minnesota several times to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. Eugene was a member of McDowell Chorus, he volunteered at St. Joseph Food Pantry and helped children learn to read at Johnston School. Survivors include two daughters, Julie Cassedy, Littleton, CO; Lisa Clements, Appleton; a cherished granddaughter, Ashley Wichman; brothers and sisters, Donald (Barbara) Wichman, Neenah; Evan “Bud” (Beverly) Wichman, Neenah; Michael (Judy) Wichman, Appleton; Henry “Skip” (Jean) Wichman, Mountain; Mary (Joe) Nemecek, Neenah; Patricia (Jim) Van Oss, Kimberly; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan (Haase) Wichman and a daughter, Kari. Funeral services for Eugene will be held at 6:00 pm, Monday, June 11, 2007 at the funeral home, with Reverend John McFadden officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 pm, Monday until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established for Gene’s favorite charities.
