Eugene J. Nagan, Kaukauna, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the age of 91. Gene and his wife, Dorothy, had been living at the Veterans Home in King, WI, for the past 5 years. Gene was born on January 12, 1917 to the late Alphonse “Fergie” and Bertha “Maude” (Rademacher) Nagan. He married Dorothy Schmidt on July 4, 1941.

Gene is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Dorothy; his children: Jeanne (Bob) Sarnowski of Kaukauna, Jackie (Gary) Schuette-Behrendt of DePere, Dan (Shari) of Kaukauna, Bill (Joyce) of Freedom, Peg (Bill) Wanie of Abrams, and Cassi (Tod) Maki of DePere; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and their families; a brother, Dave Nagan of Lakewood; a sister, Grace Hanby of Kaukauna; and a sister-in-law, Eileen Nagan of Kaukauna. Gene was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Don Schuette; a sister, Carol Skibba; and three brothers: Mark, Paul, and Dr. Robert Nagan.

The Memorial Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2008 at St. Katherine Drexel Parish, St. Mary's site, 119 W. Seventh St., Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Veterans Home in King for their compassionate care these past 5 years.
