Eugene J. “Gene” Erbrecht, age 76, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. Gene was born October 7, 1928, in Germana, Wisconsin, the son of the late Edwin and Violet (Smith) Erbrecht. He was a graduate of Tigerton High School, and served in the United States Navy. On February 18, 1950, he married Donna Lemmers. She preceded him in death on January 20, 1994.
Gene was employed for 37 years with Miller Electric Manufacturing, of Appleton, retiring in 1994, and he also dabbled in upholstery work. He was an avid sports fan of the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Wisconsin Badgers. Gene enjoyed visits with his grandchildren, and having company over. He loved being at home, and sitting out on his deck.

Survivors include his sons, Jeff Erbrecht, of Madison, and Mike (Leann) Erbrecht, of Neenah; his daughters, Lynn Cumuze and her special friend, Steve, of Tustin, Wis., and Traci Erbrecht, and her special friend, Kevin, of Wild Rose; there are nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a brother, Eddie (Mary) Erbrecht, of Shawano, and a sister, Dorothy Hendricks, of Antigo; a brother-in-law, Carl (Rita) Lemmers, of Appleton, and two sisters-in-law, Vi Lemmers, of Shiocton, and Bonita Erbrecht, of Missouri. Gene was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie, a sister, Vi Hartges, and brothers-in-law, Ben Hendricks, and Ambrose, Theodore, Clarence, and Patrick Lemmers.

Memorial services for Gene will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 5, 2005, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 3212 South Oneida Street, Menasha. The family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.
