Age 67, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 29, 2001, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born on May 5, 1933, in Shawano, the son of Paul and Freida (Buettner) Noffke, Sr. Gene served in the US Army, while stationed in Germany, from 1963-1955. He worked as a contractor in Appleton for 35 years. Gene is survived by his 97 year old mother, Freida of Appleton; two brothers, John (Jackie) Noffke of Neenah; Paul Jr.(Judy) and Goddaughter, Lori, all of Appleton; a sister, Irmgard (Arnold) Seidler of Appleton, numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends at the Golden Basket. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul and a sister, Audrey. Gene enjoyed woodworking, especially wood turning on his lathe; musky fishing with his friends, especially Ray and Windy, and spending time having coffee with his friends at the Golden Basket. A memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2001, at the funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service. Military honors will follow. A memorial fund is being established.
