Ethel R. Ziemke, age 79, died Tuesday morning, July 5, 2005. She was born November 23, 1925, to the late Oscar and Minnie (Burzlaff) Greening, in Rib Lake, Wisconsin and had been an Appleton resident for over 50 years. Ethel married Charles A. Ziemke on April 12, 1947; he preceded her in death on July 31, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her brother, LeRoy Greening. Ethel had been employed by Zwicker Knitting Mills for 40 years. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Ethel was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. She is survived by her brother, Howard (Elaine) Greening, Glendale, Wisconsin; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Greening, Cheyenne, Wyoming; nieces and nephews, Darrel, David (Karin) and Karen Greening, Ruth (Ward) Scow, Mary Greening, Judy (Chuck) Hensel, Debby (Alan) Diede, Rachel (Chuck) Patterson; seven great nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Ethel will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, July 9, 2005, at BETHANY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 530 West Parkway Boulevard, Appleton, with Reverend Darin D. Arden officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church from 1:00 pm, Saturday until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial funds have been established for Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church and the American Cancer Society.
