Ethel Mae Martin

Age 78, died Monday morning, July 22, 2002. She was born April 2, 1924, to the late Walter T. and Marion (Grant) Behn, in Goodman, Wisconsin and had been an Appleton resident since 1951. Ethel had been employed by the Telephone Company, in Appleton for 33 years as a service assistant. She was a great leader, she loved her church, loved to weed and putz in the yard, she was a good partner and played the organ. Ethel had been a member of St. James United Methodist Church for 18 years. Survivors include her husband, Roy A. Martin, to whom she had been married for nearly 57 years; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Charles Newark, Leesville, LA; four grandchildren, Shannon ( Bob) Williams, Greg (Tabitha) Arnoldussen, Ryan (Lisa) Arnoldussen, and Kyle (Icie) Arnoldussen; four great grandchildren, Shelly, Brandon, Kevin and Rodney. Funeral services for Ethel will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, July 26, 2002, at the funeral home, with Reverend Donna Miller officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 7-8 pm. A memorial fund is being established for St. James United Methodist Church.
