Age 85, passed away on Saturday February 17, 2001 at her home. She was born on June 12, 1915 in the Town of Grover, WI the daughter of the late Gustave and Minnie (Schwittay) Schroeder. On April 22, 1939 she married Marvin G. Sartorius at St. John Lutheran Church in the town of Grover. He passed away on May 4, 1982 in Appleton. She was employed by Lawrence University Food Service for 15 years.

Her survivors include her son Marvin Sartorius at home, her daughters Donna (Richard) Rusch of Appleton, Jean (Leonard) Wendler of Neenah, and Nancy (Jerome) Spatz of Black Creek; a son-in-law James F. Smith of Green Bay; 12 grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren; her brother-in-law Arnold Sartorius of Porterfield, WI, her special sister-in-law Hilda Schroeder of the Town of Grover, and several nieces and nephews including a special nephew Harry (Edith) Clark of Mishicot, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin, her daughter Darlene Smith, her brothers Edward and Alfred Schroeder, and her sisters Edna, Alice, and Evelyn; her sisters-in-law Helen McGowan, and Anna Dal Santo.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 22, 2001 at 11:00 AM at ST. PAUL EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 302 North Morrison Street with the Rev. Kenneth L. Frey officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call on Thursday at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
