Esther E. Kilsdonk

March 18, 1921 — November 26, 2002

Age 81, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday November 26, 2002. She was born in Thorp, Wisconsin on March 18, 1921, the oldest daughter of Horace and Mary (Peters) Mars. Esther married Kenneth Kilsdonk on June 14, 1941 at Holy Name of Jesus in Kimberly. Kenneth preceded her in death on March 22, 1974.

In her younger years, she worked as a cook in the cafeteria at the Kimberly Mill and also worked for the Kimberly Public Library. Later she was employed by Eiting’s Grocery Store, but for over twenty years worked as a dental assistant at Kimberly Dental Associates. She was a faithful member of Holy Name Church in Kimberly and was a former 50-year member of the Catholic Knights. She enjoyed sewing, playing bingo and cards, and craftwork of all kinds. Many have her wedding candles, and wedding invitation shadow boxes as keepsakes.

Esther is survived by three of her four sons and one daughter: Dennis (Nancy) Kilsdonk of Joliet, Illinois and their son Jason Kilsdonk of Joliet; Gary (Eileen) Kilsdonk of Amarillo, Texas and his daughter Amanda (Jeremy Gruener, fiancé) Kilsdonk of Racine; Ronald (Jeanne) Kilsdonk of Darboy and their children Matthew and Samantha Kilsdonk; and Nancy (Michael) Lee of Oshkosh and their children Karen Lee and Rebecca (Ryan Zernzach, fiancé) Lee; a grandson: Michael Kilsdonk of Appleton. Other survivors include a sister: Cecilia (Arthur) Baier of Oshkosh; two brothers-in-law: Alfred (Roz) Kilsdonk of Racine; Harland Phillips of Hemet, California; two sisters-in-law: Marion Kilsdonk of Shawano and Joan (James) Van Mun of Kimberly as well as by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, her youngest son Mark and three sisters Elizabeth (Adrian) Vander Zanden, Margaret (Joe) Wulterkens and Lorraine Mars.

The funeral liturgy for Esther will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 30, 2002 at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until the hour of the service.
