Ervin W. Klarner

Age 96, died on Thursday, May 27, 2004 at Appleton Medical Center. Ervin was born in Black Creek, Wisconsin on March 24, 1908, son of the late Walter and Minnie (Sommers) Klarner. He married Mildred Wegenke on April 17, 1936 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Appleton. Ervin served his country in the U.S. Army, 35th Infantry, Reconnaissance; during World War II. He was employed at Kimberly Clark for 28 years, retiring in 1973. Ervin and Mildred loved camping and fishing all over the country. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; his daughter, Judy (Don) Meier; 2 grandsons, Tim and Bruce Meier; and 4 great-grandchildren: Brandon, Ryan, Cassie and Calvin Meier. Ervin is further survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Edward, Frank, John, George, Joesph and Joe Klarner; sisters: Ann Arndt; Josephine Mueller; Ester Klarner; and Kate De Latt. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, 129 South Mason Street, Appleton, with Rev. Jeffrey Verbeke and Rev. Paul T. Schuler officiating. Visitors will be received at the church on Tuesday, June 1 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. The interment with Military Honors will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. As an expression of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established.
