Szymik, Emil R.
Emil R. Szymik, age 63, of Appleton, died peacefully, Sunday afternoon, December 17, 2006, surrounded by his loving family at Appleton Medical Center. He was born February 18, 1943, to the late Emile and Helen (Stewart) Szymik, in Marinette, where he graduated from high school. Prior to moving to Appleton 20 years ago, Emil had lived in Milwaukee for 5 years and in Racine for 18 years. He was employed by GAB Robbins as a heavy equipment appraiser, retiring in 2004. Emil enjoyed to travel, especially road trips in his little convertible and cruises. He loved his two kitty’s, Chloe and Bitty and cooking with his wife, but he was happiest when he had his kids and grandkids by him. He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Maxine L. (Hanisch) Szymik, to whom he had been married for 43 years; three children, Tracey (Scott) Audenby, Racine; Kevin (Leslie) Szymik, Racine; Robb Szymik, Appleton; two grandchildren, Joshua Audenby and Amber Worden; a sister, Judith (Roger) Forray, Oak Creek, WI; a brother-in-law, Michael (Hope) Hanisch, Green Bay; a sister-in-law, Susan (Steve) Schoch, Madison, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Emil will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at the funeral home with Reverend Ronald Jung officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Gestures of concern may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
