Age 88, died Thursday, November 6, 2003, at Colony Oaks Care Center. Elmer was born on April 8, 1915, near Brillion to the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tennessen. He married Mary Brochtrup on April 27, 1936, in Appleton; she preceded him in death on April 2, 1975. Elmer was an avid cribbage player and was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary Blodgett, Appleton; his sister, Gertrude Hennes, Kaukauna; his sister-in-law, Gladys Tennessen, Arizona; his grandchildren, Suzanne (Richard) Lauerman, Appleton; Laurie Blodgett, Appleton; Jean (Jeff) Rusch, Appleton; Sandra (Todd) Stohl, Kimberly; and Robert (Rebecca) Blodgett, Pickett; his great grandchildren, Daniel, Jonathan, Luke, Mike, Casey and Christina. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Josephine Keough, his brother LeRoy Tennessen and his great grandson, Larry Lauerman .
The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2003, at ST. FRANCIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 433 County CE, Hollandtown, with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Interment will be in St. Francis Catholic Church Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial has been established in his name.
