Betty J. (DeBruin) Peerenboom, age 89, longtime resident of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2017. She was born in Little Chute on December 24, 1927 to the late Frank and Agnes (Vandenberg) DeBruin. She was a beloved wife of the late Joseph Peerenboom.
She will be greatly missed by her children: Jay (Tammy) Peerenboom, Jill (Bill) Parry, Tari (David) Van Hoof; cherished grandchildren: Eric, Linsy (Jon), Mary, Nach, Kate, Joe (Kathlyn), Tom (Emily), Aimie (Dan), Will (Becca), Ashley (Anthony), Kelly (Tom), Matt (Yvonne), Taylor; and ten great-grandchildren. She is further survived by siblings: Joyce Bouressa and Jim DeBruin; siblings-in-law: Rose Medd, Jim Peerenboom, Laurie DeBruin, Carol DeBruin, Mary Lou Peerenboom, and Betty Peerenboom; and many nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Tom DeBruin; siblings-in-laws: Rob Peerenboom, Joan Koehn, Donald Bouressa, Pete Medd, and Clyde Koehn.
Funeral services for Betty will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 North McDonald Street, Appleton, WI 54911 with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. There will be a time of visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Online condolences can be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be made to the charity of the family's choice in Betty's honor.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Jack Meyer, Affinity Hospice, and the caregivers at Century Oaks for their loving care and compassion for their mother.
