Elizabeth J. (Santner) Turecek, age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2017. She was born in Milwaukee on February 20, 1923 to the late Peter and Edith (Pastorino) Santner. She was a beloved wife of the late Joseph Turecek.
In their early years, Elizabeth and Joe owned two resorts in Pickerel, WI. Later, Liz spent 30 years and unlimited elbow grease restoring the Emanuel D. Adler House in Milwaukee's historic “gold coast” to its former glory. Once she obtained recognition of the house as a Historically Designated Home, she aptly renamed it the Elizabeth House.
She will be greatly missed by her children: Barbara Terry, Mike (Judy) Turecek and Joseph (Lisa) Turecek; cherished grandchildren: Kim (Duke) Eisch, Kandace (Amit) Khanna, Patrick (Stephanie) Terry, Tammy (Lieutenant Colonel Kevin) Davidson, Jami (TJ) Hagen, Desi (Justin) Nault, Niki (Kyle) Sommer, Dani Woods, Joe (Megan) Turecek, George Turecek, Marla Turecek, Nakia Huff and Korissa (Trent) Huff. Liz was blessed with twenty one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Kenneth Santner, sister and brother-in-law Gertrude and Al Platt and sister Susan Shore.
