Elizabeth Jean (Lynch) Talbot, age 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 1, 2021, at Aspire Senior Living. Bette was born on July 5, 1934 in Appleton, Wisconsin, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Bruehl) Lynch. In 1952, Bette graduated from Appleton High School, where she met the love of her life, Steve. On October 24, 1953 Bette and Steve were united in marriage at St. Therese Catholic Church. It was in 1954 that they began their journey into parenthood welcoming their first child, and were blessed with six more to follow.
Bette and Steve enjoyed a wonderful trip to Ireland which was something they had always wanted to do. Many bus trips visiting various places across the states and meeting new friends was another pastime they enjoyed together. Bette was an unbelievably loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Everything she did was always done in love for her family. She was always there for each and every one of us to help however she could, offering her priceless words of wisdom and advice. She had a sparkle in her eye, a skip in her step and was a fun-loving woman with a huge heart of gold and a little bit of feistiness to boot. Above all, Bette cherished the time she spent with her loving dog Willy. After Steve passed in 2019, Willy was at her side as only a best friend would be. He will also miss her terribly, but we all know in our hearts that she is now resting peacefully in the arms of her beloved Steve. Well-done Willy – thank you for taking such good care of mother!
Bette will be missed by her children: Tina (Dan) Boggess, Cary Lee (Bob) Dvorak, Lisa (Bill) Kapinski, Stevie (Andy) Klein, Michael Talbot, and Amy Talbot; her grandchildren: Kris, Emma, and Amanda Boggess, Tim Frick, Caitlin, Ryan and Meghan Dvorak, Lauren, Jake and Eliza Kapinski, Joshua (Julia), Sam (Yael), and Ben Klein; and her four great grandsons: Everett, Eden, Asher and Wyeth. She is further survived by her sister: Janis (Bud) Mayer, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Steve, daughter Terry, parents Joseph and Elizabeth Lynch, brothers Sylvester Lynch, Gordon Lynch and sister Mildred (Lynch) Wittman, and Steve’s parents and siblings.
The funeral service for Bette will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2021 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, located at 537 N. Superior Street in Appleton, with Fr. David Funk O.F.M. Cap. officiating. A time of visitation will take place from 2:00 PM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Bette’s name.
