LICHTERMAN, ELIZABETH ANN
“BETTY”
Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Lichterman, age 50, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Cherry Meadows surrounded by her family after a one-year courageous battle with cancer. Betty was born on October, 14, 1957 in Marshfield, to Angela (Marx) Green and the late Roger C. Green. She attended St. Pius X Catholic Church Grade School and graduated from Xavier High School in 1975. Betty was a 1980 graduate of the Fox Valley Technical School of Nursing. She then worked as an LPN at Appleton Medical Center for 27 years, an avocation she truly enjoyed as well as the love and companionship of her co-workers at AMC. She was considered a “favorite nurse” to many cardiac patients. Betty was well-known for her performances in Christmas Stars at Xavier High School. More recently she sang and acted in the ThedaCare Follies. Betty loved the stage, especially to benefit charity. She married Larry Lichterman on March 1, 1985, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Appleton. They were blessed with a daughter Lynn, born on April 4, 1991, and a son, Ted, born on November 18, 1994. Her family was indeed the love of her life, and rightfully, a source of pride, joy and peace. Betty is survived by her husband and children; her mother, Angela Green, Appleton; her brothers, Ron (Mary Ellen) Green, Appleton; Skipp (Judy) Green, Maine; Norb Green, Appleton; her sister-in-law, Nancy Daniel-Green; her sisters, Gerri (David) Ayers, Florida; Ginny (Jim) McGhee, Madison; Angie (John) Coenen, Dale; Marilyn (Mark) Lichon, Green Bay; Rita Couillard, Appleton; Alice (Mark) Bishop, Appleton; and Kristina (Rodney) Watkins, Appleton. Betty was Godmother to some and aunt to dozens of nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her parents-in-law, Lynn and Iva Lichterman, Appleton; and her sister-in-law, Lisa (Tim) Kaderabek, and their two daughters, Howards Grove. Betty was preceded in death by her father, Roger C. Green in 1993; her brother-in-law, Gerald Lichterman in 1997; her brother, Thomas Daniel-Green in 1998; and her nephew Ned Green in 2001. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2008, at ST PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 West Marquette Street, Appleton, with Fr. Thomas J. Farrell officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Betty's family wish to send their heartfelt gratitude to the St. Pius X parish family for their love and reinforcement of her faith. Also, many thanks to her dear family, friends and neighbors, the staffs at the Martha Seikman Oncology Clinic, at Appleton Medical Center and Cherry Meadows. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Betty's name.
