FLAUGER, ELAINE MARIE

Elaine Marie Flauger, age 83, of Appleton, passed away at her home on March 2, 2011. Elaine was a wonderful woman, a wonderful wife, and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was born on March 30, 1927, in Wautoma, to the late William and Inez (Wilson) Hamlin. Elaine married Giles Horton on December 31, 1948, in Green Bay; he preceded her in death on December 3, 1983. She married Gerald “Pat” Flauger on August 5, 1995, in Appleton. She was a graduate of Bellin School of Nursing in 1948. Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Pat; her daughter, Darla (William) LeClair, Two Rivers; her grandchildren, Anthony Richardson, California; Olivia LeClair, and Jack LeClair, both of Two Rivers; her sisters, Mary Hamlin, Appleton; and Ann Mueller, Slinger, Wisconsin; and her nephew, Quinton (Dawn) Mueller, her niece, Charlene Hamlin, and her step-grandson, Michael Flauger (Tina DuBois). Elaine is further survived by her husband Pat's family. She was preceded in death by her brother, William (Charlotte) Hamlin, and her brother-in-law, Armin Mueller. Elaine was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at FIRST CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 724 East South River Street, Appleton, with Rev. Jane B. Anderson officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday, May 7th, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Committal prayers will be at Highland Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staffs at ThedaCare at Home Hospice, Home Instead Senior Care, and the Cardiac Care Unit at Appleton Medical Center, for their wonderful and loving care. A memorial has been established in Elaine's name to benefit the Alzheimer's Association.
