Elaine Blink, age 89 of Darboy, passed away at ThedaClark Medical Center in Appleton on December 27, 2016. Elaine was born in Appleton on November 9, 1927, daughter of the late Delvin and Gladys (Reinke) Dorschner. She was a graduate of Appleton (West) High School and married Earl Blink in 1957. She was active with raising funds for the Menasha High School music programs and also volunteered and served as treasurer of the Americanos' Drum and Bugle Corps for many years. Elaine will be remembered by most for her activity in her husband's contracting company, Blink Construction. She kept the books, made sure things were done right, and coordinated all of the building projects. She also enjoyed cheering for the Packers, the occasional visit to the casino, and spending time with her furry friends. Elaine was a former member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Menasha where she also volunteered much of her time. Throughout her life, Elaine enjoyed sharing stories about family and friends from over the years.
Elaine is survived by her husband; Earl Blink of Darboy; three children: David (Debbie) Carney of Kimberly; Scott Blink of Darboy; and Rebecca J. Blink, Ph.D. of Darboy; two granddaughters: Jenn Landas and Megan Patterson; and two great-grandchildren: Eli and Alexander; two brothers: Kenneth (Janice) Dorschner, Ph.D. of Midland, Virginia and Dwayne (Shirley) Dorschner of Menasha; and a brother-in-law: Arlyn McNichols of Texas. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, and by her brothers and sisters: Mary (Robert) Schmidt, Donald (Pat) Dorschner, Karyl McNichols, and Delores “Cookie” Merrill.
The funeral service for Elaine will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 2, 2016 at the Star of Hope Chapel, 3131 N. Richmond Street in Appleton, with Rev. Tim Krick officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to gather at the cemetery chapel on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
