Effie Harriet Olson

Was called home to her Lord and Savior on September 7, 2018 at the age 83. Effie was born on October 7, 1934 in Stambaugh, Michigan to Theodore Robert and Dora Ellen (Borns) Olson. In 1952, Effie moved to Appleton and finished her last two years at Appleton West High School, and graduated in 1954. Effie then enrolled in Business College and while attending classes, she began working at AAL (Thrivent). After her graduation, Effie was hired full-time at AAL and remained with the company for 39 years until her retirement on February 28, 1994. Effie will be remembered for her love of music, singing, traveling and taking pictures, and visiting with her many friends and family.

Effie is survived by her dear friends Judy and Dennis Frederick, Jim and Rosie Schultz, and Joan and Bethanie Klaas. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Effie is preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and brothers-in-law: Ella (Harold) Bartsch, Eleanore (Jim) Meyers, Elaine (Wade) Comish and Erma (Fred) Hill, and two brother, Everette Olson and Elroy Olson.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 12th at Faith Lutheran Church, 601 E. Glendale Ave, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Aaron Rosenau and Pastor Jim Wiebel officiating. Visitation at the church from 9:00 AM until time of services. Internment to follow at Stambaugh Cemetery in Stambaugh, WI at a later date. Memorials to Faith Lutheran Church in Effie’s name are appreciated.
