Edward M. Kohler Jr., age 77, of Menasha, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Appleton Medical Center with his family by his side. On November 24, 1937, Ed was born in Neenah to Edward O. and Eunice (Menard) Kohler. After high school, Ed enlisted in the United States Navy serving from 1955-1959 aboard the U.S.S. Philippine Sea CVS-47. While in the military, he learned the trade of meat cutting. He continued this line of work for many years working at different grocery stores with Herb's Food Town being his favorite. After 25 years of being a butcher, he decided to change careers and work for Wisconsin Tissue Mills and retired from there after 19 years of employment. Ed was a very proud Union worker. Ed was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Menasha and served as an usher for many, many years. One of Ed's favorite things to do was to go gambling at Oneida. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Donna; their son, Todd (Heather) Kohler; his grandchildren: Nick (Bethany) Kohler and Krystle Kohler; his daughter-in-law, Chrissy Kohler; his grand-dog, Dempsey; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Scott; his brother, Ray Kohler, and two sisters: Shirley (Buzz) Houg and Mary Swaboda.
