Edward Gustav Linn, 83, passed away on July 19, 2024, in Appleton, WI. He was born on June 17, 1941, in Wakefield, Michigan to Richard and Sally (Niemela) Linn.
Edward attended Northern Michigan University before pursuing a career as an educator. He was a dedicated Physical Education teacher and Athletic Director in Shiocton for 31 years. His passion for sports shone brightly as he coached and coordinated numerous High School athletic programs. Despite calling Wisconsin his home, Edward’s heart remained loyal to the Michigan Wolverines, the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Red Wings. Ed loved playing card games, particularly cribbage, challenging himself with a good crossword and spending quality time with his family playing board games.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Donna, children Tracy (Scott) Flees, Brian (Jennifer) Linn, and Heather Linn. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jacob, Lexie, Matt, Samantha, and Hayleigh; siblings Sally Crawford, Chris (MaryBeth) Linn, Merry Linn; brothers-in-laws Neil (Marilyn) Koepke, Eugene (Ann) Koepke; Wayne (Kathleen) Koepke; John Koepke and sisters-in-law Carol (Richard) Kinnunen, JoAnne Linn and Lulu Koepke.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert, Harold “Jiggs” and Richard “Kenny” Linn; grandson Jonathon Linn; sisters-in-law Barbara and Pearl Linn and Kathy Koepke; as well as brothers-in-law Chet Crawford and William Koepke.
A visitation to honor Edward's life will be held at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St. in Appleton, on August 8th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on August 9th from 9:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM.
