EDWARD H. RUSCHER
Appleton
Age 60, died unexpectedly, Tuesday January 16, 2001 in a tragic skiing accident. Edward was born March 2, 1940 to Herman E. and Alice (Haase) Ruscher in Greenville, Wisconsin. He married the former Mary Vanevenhoven on September 4, 1961 at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. Edward’s love for skiing was surpassed only by his love of family. He was an avid gardener, golfer and sailor. Edward graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1962 earning a degree in Chemical Engineering and remained a loyal Badger fan throughout.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary; two daughters, Dr. Ann Ruscher and her husband, Dr. Leonard Go of Madison; Kathryn Hopp and her husband, Jeff of Appleton; two grandchildren, Margaret Go and Erik Hopp, who were his joy and the light of his life. He will also be mourned by his mother in law, Nellie Vanevenhoven; his brother in law, Jim (Vicki) Vanevenhoven; his mother, Alice Ruscher; his sister, Kathleen (Don) Kaufman; four brothers, Fred Ruscher, Richard (Mary) Ruscher, Roy (Judy) Ruscher and Paul (Linda) Ruscher.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herman and father in law Arthur Vanevenhoven.
The Liturgy Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday January 20, 2001 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 South State Street, Appleton with Fr. Michael O’Rourke officiating. Friends and family may call at church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
