Edna Cattanach, age 91 of Boscobel, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2007, at The Renaissance in Appleton surrounded by her family. She was born on December 30, 1915 in Owen, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Fred and Iva (Stoker) Earl. On August 2, 1941, she married Lewis Cattanach in Owen; he preceded her in death in 1998. Edna graduated from Owen High School and UW–Stevens Point. She was an elementary school teacher in the Kimberly School District from 1958 until 1965 and then in the Boscobel School District from 1966 until 1980. Edna was a member of the United Methodist Church in Boscobel and was active in the Church Guild, card groups and was a school volunteer following her retirement. She was a very kind and giving person who had a love for children, education and teaching.
Edna is survived by her four children: Michael (Judith) Cattanach of Asheville, North Carolina; Thomas (Lynn) Cattanach of Markesan; Nancy (Larry) Gloudeman of Kimberly and Jean Bolchen of Middleton; nine grandchildren: Brian and Bart Cattanach; Kim (David) Stephens and Karie (John) Davenport; Ross Gloudeman, Chad (Kim) Gloudeman and Brett Gloudeman (fiancée Elizabeth Schleis); Jared and Tanya Bolchen; three great grandchildren: Alexander and Zayda Stephens and Taylor Gloudeman; 2 sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, son-in-law Larry Bolchen, two sisters, and her brother.
The memorial service for Edna will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Boscobel United Methodist Church, 104 Buchanan Street, Boscobel with Rev. Stan Pegram officiating. Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Withee. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Wilhelm and staff in Boscobel, all of the caregivers at The Renaissance, and Lorie from Affinity Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion shown to our family.
