Age 84, passed away on Tuesday September 11, 2007 at his home. Ed was born on December 23, 1922 in Catawba, WI., son of the late George and Minnie (Emons) Kempen. He enlisted in the Army in November of 1948, and was honorably discharged in January of 1950. Ed married Frieda Kramar on June 9, 1951, and she survives him. He worked for Kimberly Clark for 39 years. In addition to his wife Frieda, he is survived by his children, Donna (Tom) Schumacher, James, Russell and Ron Kempen, Andy (Sherry) Kempen, Patty (Richard) Kobinsky, and Jerry (Barb) Kempen; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 2 sisters in law Veronica Patterson, Florence Uravich, 1 brother in law, Richard (Ginny) Kramar. Ed was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ben and Clarence, 3 sisters, Martha, Ann, and Adeline, and brother in law, Clarence Kramar, mother and father in law, Mary and Charles Kramar. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday September 15, 2006 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH, 600 E. Kimberly Ave, Kimberly with Fr. David Beaudry officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow in Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly. A memorial is being established.
