Age 93, she died in Appleton on October 31, 2022. She was born May 2, 1929 on the family farm near New Hradec ND, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Steffan) Buresh. On October 21, 1946, she married Edward Jedlicka in New Hradec, North Dakota. Ed passed away on January 30, 2003. Edith is also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Tillie Havelka, Mary Chorne, infant sister Martha and a grandson Tommy Swadley. She is survived by her 6 children, Richard (Jean) Jedlicka of Appleton, Donna Gabel (Tom) of Arlington Wi, Kathy Milske (Gary) of Kimberly Wi, Joleen Swadley (Tom) of Appleton Wi, Edward Jedlicka Jr. (Jody) of Sussex Wi. and Alan Jedlicka (Michelle) of Riviera Beach Fl. 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. 2 brothers, Ludwig Buresh of Dickinson ND and Raymond Chorne (Marlene) of South Heart ND. One sister, Jan Frank (Henry) of Dickinson ND, and many special nieces and nephews.
Ed and Edith farmed north of South Heart ND until 1953 when they sold the farm and moved to Dickinson ND. In 1965 they moved to Delavan Wi, and in 1980 they moved to Appleton Wi.
Edith’s interests beside spending time with her family were embroidering dish towels, baking bread, kolaches, and many other specialties, however many of her family thought her peach dumplings were their favorite. She was very proud of her Czech heritage and spoke Czech fluently and loved to polka.
Mass will be held at on Thursday November 10, 2022, at Holy Spirit Parish-Darboy Campus, W2806 County Road KK, Darboy, with Mass at 11:00 AM with visitation at 9:30AM and internment at Holy Spirit Cemetery on Friday November 11, 2022 at 9:30AM.
The family want to give a very special thank you to Dimensions Living of Appleton where Edith lived the last few months of her life and to Moments hospice who helped Edith in the last days of her life.
