Earl Frederick Zwicker

Earl Frederick Zwicker, 95, of Appleton WI passed away on Monday March 7, 2022 at Eagle Point Senior Living in Appleton WI. He was born on May 23, 1926 in Appleton WI. The son of Dewey and Erna (Nickasch) Zwicker. On May 28, 1953 he married the love of his life, Marion Karschney. Earl obtained his doctorate from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL and immediately began teaching Physics there. He was a large part of some programs including the Bridge Building Program and The Smile Program which he founded with other professors. In his free time, he enjoyed; Tennis, handball, swimming, jogging, photography, teaching, volunteering, reading, singing, exploring, watching movies, and listening to classical music. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. One of his greatest pleasures was helping others in any way feasible and always stated “learning is fun and life is learning”.

Earl is survived by; (3) Children: Lari Le (Robert) Behm of Appleton, WI, Heidi (Robert Lewis) Nelson of Manitowoc, WI and Scott (Debra) Zwicker of Spring Grove, IL. (10) Grandchildren: Robert Jr. (Humberto), James, Jonathan, Brian, Jordan (November), Larissa (Ryan), Roselyn, Lilly, Kyle (Sarah), and Claire. Great-Granddaughter: Natalie. Brother: Fred Zwicker and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marion. Son Mark Zwicker. Daughter Robin (David) Behrendt. Granddaughter Crystal Behrendt. Brother and Sister In Law David and Janet Zwicker.

Visitation will be held on Saturday April 2, 2022 from 2:00 PM until the hour of the Memorial Service at 3:00 PM at Wichmann Funeral Home (537 N Superior St. Appleton WI 54911) Pastor Adam Bridgman will officiate. Private burial will be at Highland Memorial Park at a later date.
