Age 86, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2007 at his home. He was born on July 19, 1920 in Appleton to the late Arthur J. and Alma H. (Schroeder) Schefe. On August 30, 1947 he was united in marriage to Katherine A. Zimmer, and they shared 59 wonderful years. Earl worked on the family farm until 1962, and was a maintenance man at Foremost Dairy from 1953 until 1982. Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and spending time Up North at his cabin on Pickerel Lake.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Katherine; his children: Robert (Bonnie) Schefe, Appleton, Roger (Beth) Schefe, Spring, TX, Sandra (John) Wallace, Appleton, Christ (Jenny) Schefe, Mishicot, Peggy (Fiancee Dennis Mueller) Schefe, Green Bay; 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Ethel Hartman, Muskegan, MI; brother-in-law: Lloyd Mueller, Appleton; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marion Mueller; and brother-in-law: Pat Hartman.

Funeral services for Earl will be held on Friday, July 6, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church (912 North Oneida Street) with Rev. Wendy Wirth-Brock officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4 until 7 P.M. and again on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
