Earl battled Parkinson’s cheerfully giving others hope. Age 78, passed away Thursday morning, September 13, 2001, at Peabody Manor Nursing Home, now resting in the arms of his Heavenly Father. Beloved husband and dearest friend of Elaine M Fetting (nee Goldmann) for 47 years. He was born March 18, 1923, to the late Arnold J. and Elsie (Schultz) Fetting, in Appleton, and moved to the Mackville area, Town of Center in 1926. Dr. Fetting attended Valleyview School, St. Paul Lutheran School, Roosevelt Jr. High School and graduated from Appleton High School (West) in 1940. He attended Lawrence University from 1940-1943 and then transferred to the Marquette School of Dentistry, graduating in 1946. He served with the U. S. Navy during WW II from 1943-1948 and interned at the Forsyth Dental Infirmary, in Boston, from 1948-1949. Dr. Fetting practiced dentistry in Sheboygan from 1949-1951 and then moved to Appleton in 1951. He married Elaine M. Goldmann, October 31, 1953. Dr. Fetting retired from the Practice of Dentistry in 1990. During his retirement he enjoyed travel, bridge and gardening. He was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, a Life Member of the American Dental Association, Past President of the Outagamie County Dental Society, a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, a member of the Academy of Operative Dentistry, a member of the Foundation of Dentistry International, an associate member of the Chicago Dental Society, an associate member of the Greater Milwaukee Dental Society, a Charter Member and Past President of the Wisconsin Society of Dentistry for Children, a member of Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity, a Charter Member of Fox Valley Sports Car Club, a Charter Member and Past President of the Fox Valley Bonsai Club, a member of the Appleton Curling Club, a former member of Riverview County Club, a member and Past President of the Downtown Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow, the Harvey Pierre VFW Post #2778 and the Oney Johnston-Edward Blessman American Legion Post #38. Survivors include his wife, Elaine M. Fetting; an aunt, Lauretta E. Schultz, Appleton; a brother-in-law, Paul (Kathleen) Goldmann, Kohler, WI; a nephew, Jeff Goldmann, Sheboygan; a niece, Laura (Duane) Hohl, Portage; five cousins, Merlin (Shirley) Heiden, Black Creek, WI; Floyd (Barb) Heiden, Appleton; Lee (Judy) Heiden, Florida; Sharon (George) Williams, Appleton; Gene (Edie) Stecker, Appleton; many God Children and many loving friends. Funeral services for Dr. Fetting will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, September 17, 2001, at ST PAUL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 302 North Morrison Street, with Reverend Ralph C. Waack officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 pm, Sunday and on Monday at the church from 10:00 am, until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established in his name.

Special thanks are extended to the staff, nurses and CNA’s at Peabody Manor and the doctors and nurses at Appleton Medical Center for their loving care. Special thanks to Dr. Jack C. Anderson and Dr. Paul Nausieda (Mt. Sinai Hospital, Milwaukee).

The Lord will say to Earl, “It’s good to see you”. Earl will reply, “ Its good to be seen”.
