Duane V. Prentice

July 29, 1927 — January 13, 2021

Duane V. Prentice, age 93 of Appleton passed away peacefully on January 13, 2021 at St Elizabeth’s hospital. Duane was born on July 29, 1927 to Vinal and Stella (Fischer) Prentice. He spent his childhood and teen years in Fremont, WI. In 1945 Duane graduated from Weyauwega High school.

After graduation he enlisted in the Navy and was a World War II Veteran. After the war, he worked in Milwaukee for several years before returning to Fremont and going to work for Kimberly Clark in Neenah, WI. In 1950, Duane married Velma Wendt and they moved to Appleton, WI. Duane retired from Miller Electric after 30 years of service as a Customer Service Representative.

Duane was a member of Faith Lutheran Church for over 70 years, performing many volunteer services for the Church during that time. He was also a member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club and the American Legion. Duane enjoyed all sports and played softball for many years in the recreational leagues in the Appleton area.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 62 years Velma (Wendt) Prentice and 2 sisters Joan Prentice and Jane Forbeck.

Duane is survived by his son James (Debbie), 4 Grand Children, Christopher (Laura), Andrew (Sara), Matthew (Kari) and Katrina (Matthew) and 11 Great Grand Children.
