TRAMS, DUANE S.
Duane Trams, of Neenah, age 50, was called Home to Eternal Life by God on Sunday, October 12, 2008 surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born August 30, 1958 in Escanaba, Michigan, the son of Curtis and Patricia (Hoy) Trams. Duane attended Neenah High School and then served his country is the U.S. Navy. On October 4, 1997, he married Dawn Ahrens at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Appleton. Duane was employed at West Business Services, Appleton. He was a faithful “front row” member of New Hope Lutheran Church, Neenah and active in their couple's bible study. Duane enjoyed traveling, golfing, bowling, karaoke and loved NASCAR.
Duane is survived by the love of his life, his wife; Dawn Ahrens-Trams; son: Stevie Trams, Ohio; daughter; Patricia Trams, Ohio; parents: Curtis and Patricia Trams; brother: Leonard (Susan) Trams; sisters: Linda (Joe) Ashauer; Corrine Thompson; Barbara (Pat) Bergner; godchild: Travis Nett; aunt: Barbara Allen, New York; mother-in-law: Barbara Ahrens; father-in-law: Jack (Joann) Ahrens; brothers-in-law: Mark (Amy) Ahrens; Tim (Linda) Ahrens; Al (Dee) Ahrens; Greg (Jill) Ahrens and John Ahrens. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends. Duane was preceded in death by his godchild, Jonathon Trams and good friend and golf buddy, Earl Schmit.
The funeral service for Duane will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at NEW HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1850 American Drive, Neenah. The Rev. Jeff Prewitt will be officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Hirschberg Foundation for pancreatic cancer research are appreciated.
Duane's family would like to thank Ben Schultz, LPN and the entire staff at Appleton Medical Center, 3rd floor cancer center for their excellent care. Thanks to Dr. Avi Bar-Lev and Dr. John D. Swanson, Jr. and everyone at the Martha Siekman Cancer Center for your compassion.
A special thank you to my baby sister Barbie, for helping to take care of me and walking beside me on my journey through life. I'll see you in Glory!!
