Duane J. Heindel

Duane J. Heindel, 93, passed away on March 20, 2021, at Cornerstone Hospice, The Villages Florida. Duane was born on April 25, 1927 to August Heindel and Amelia Vandenhoven. On July 22, 1950, he was united in marriage to Ann Hilgenberg and they spent 64 years together. Duane served in the Navy during WWII.  He worked at Appleton Papers’ Combined Locks mill until retirement in June 1988.  Duane enjoyed fishing and duck hunting and did both well into his 80s.  He also loved plants and could make anything grow.

Duane is survived by his five children: Steven (Rox-Anne) Heindel, The Villages, Florida, Catherine Heindel, San Diego, California, Louis (Mary) Heindel, The Villages, Florida, Jennifer (John) Trottier, Neenah, Charles (Jackie) Heindel, Sylvania, Georgia, 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Duane was preceded in death by his wife Ann, parents, daughter Mary, brother Louis and sisters Lorraine VanAkrin and Marie Lucassen.

The funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday May 25^th at 11:00 am at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna, with Fr. David Mcelroy and Deacon Steve Vende Hey officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday May 25^th at 10:30 am until the time of the mass at church. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
