Dorothy Rita Pozolinski, age 93, passed away peacefully on March 4,2022, at her home. Dorothy was born on February 24, 1929, to the late John and Elizabeth (Kruzicki) Wanserski in Rosholt, Wisconsin. Dorothy was a graduate of Rosholt High School, class of 1946. On September 8, 1951, she was united in marriage to Joseph Pozolinski at St. John’s Catholic Church in Menasha, Wisconsin. They enjoyed 49 years together before Joe’s passing in 2001.
Dorothy loved her family and spending time with them. Her and Joe were fond of traveling and met many new friends along the way. Dorothy loved being outdoors, working in her flower garden, growing and sharing vegetables, watching and feeding the birds. She had a love/hate relationship with the local bunnies and squirrels. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing.
Dorothy was a long-time member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Appleton. Singing in the choir brought her much joy.
Dorothy will be greatly missed by her children: Fred (Amy) Pozolinski of Neenah, Mike (Judy) Pozolinski of Appleton and daughter-in-law Jackie Pozolinski of Menasha. Her grandchildren: Doug Pozolinski, Crystal (Adam) Landon, Carrie (fiancé’ Mike) Keesler, Tyler (fiancé’ Meaghan) Pozolinski, Danielle (Eric) Billmann, Amanda (Matt) Rooyakkers, Brett Pozolinski and Nathan (Teaka) Pozolinski. Great grandchildren: Madison, Naidah, Brynlee, Addison, Connor, Brianna, Colton, Madeline, Jameson and Julia. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, sons Tom and Jerry, and siblings: Gertrude, Julane, Maxine, Ralph, Larry, Erv, Danny and Richard (Butch).
There will be a memorial service for Dorothy on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 E. Lourdes Dr. in Appleton, with Father Joe Dorner officiating. A gathering prior to the service will be at the church from 9:30 am till 11:00 am. Wichmann Funeral Homes of Appleton is serving the family.
