Dorothy G. Losse

January 28, 1917 — November 17, 2002

Age 85, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 17, 2002 at the Appleton Medical Center. Dorothy was born in Proctor, Minnesota on January 28, 1917, daughter of the late Harry and Elsie (Peterson) Peterson. She was a graduate of Superior High School and During World War II worked for Nelson Rockefeller, Sr. in his governmental office in Washington, DC. On November 13, 1948 she married Howard Losse; he survives. She and Howard relocated to Appleton to raise their family, and after the kids were grown, Dorothy worked as the church secretary at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. She enjoyed shopping, bowling, and dining out. Many will remember her generosity – the needs of others were always placed before those of her own.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years: Howard Losse of Appleton; two sons: Jack (Carol) Losse of Little Chute and Michael (Connie) Losse of Madison; a daughter: Sandra (Al) Baer of Appleton; three grandchildren: Brian (Kate) Baer of Appleton; Junelle Baer of Appleton; and John Losse of Madison; a sister-in-law: Mavis Peterson of Stevens Point. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Wallace ''Pete'' Peterson and Dwayne ''Babe'' Peterson.

The funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kent Ingram of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 – 7 PM and again Wednesday from 10 AM until the hour of the services. The family has directed that memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
