Age 86, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. Dorothy was born August 20, 1916 in the town of Center, daughter of the late Alfred and Elsie (Purath) Wirth. On February 25, 1939 she married John Donnermeyer who preceded her in death on August 3, 1995.
For over twenty-five years, Dorothy worked as a nurses’ aide in the nursery at the Kaukauna Community Hospital. She was a longtime and faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church and its Altar Society. Dorothy enjoyed flowers, gardening, crocheting, and playing cards with family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by four sons: John “Jack” (Diane) Donnermeyer, Jr. of Kaukauna; Mark (Linda) Donnermeyer of Kaukauna; Keith (Char) Donnermeyer of Granite Bay, California; Ken (Jan) Donnermeyer of Kaukauna; four daughters: Joyce Frederickson of Kimberly; Janet (Harvey) Raether of Menasha; Pat (Dick) Stuyvenberg of Kimberly; Shirley (Gary) Bley of Port Washington; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Millie Wirth of Appleton; Clara Markgraf of Lodi; Elaine Donnermeyer of Kaukauna; a brothers-in-law: Leo (Janice) Donnermeyer of Kimberly; Robert (Katie) Donnermeyer of Menasha; and Clifford Vanevenhoven of Kaukauna. Dorothy is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and by many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sons-in-law Darvin Frederickson and Howard Jansen, and a grandson Jesse Donnermeyer.
The funeral liturgy for Dorothy will be held on Friday, June 20, 2003 at 11:00 AM at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 119 W. 7th Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Robert Udulutsch, OFM. Cap. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday after 4:00 Pm and again at the church on Friday after 10:00 AM. Visiting hours will conclude on Thursday with a parish prayer and scripture service at 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Dorothy’s name has been established.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gustafson, and to the entire staff at St. Paul Home. You truly made St. Paul’s her home, and cared for her like she was your own. Thank you for your care, compassion, and most of all for your love. You will never be forgotten.
