Age 96, passed away at Appleton Medical Center, Appleton on Friday, June 29, 2007. She was born in Wausau on February 15, 1911, daughter of the late Ralph and Evelyn (McCormick) Raymond. On June 29, 1946 she married her husband, Willard Grimmer. He preceded her in death in 1996. Dorothy had a passion for Brett Favre and all of the other past and present Packers. Flowers, trees and all of nature were so very enjoyable for her. She had a remarkably sharp mind and an enjoyable sense of humor. She truly enjoyed her last four years at Renaissance where she made many very special friends.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sandra and Dr. Harold Fromm, M.D. of Rapid City, SD; Boyd (Carol) Grimmer of Appleton; grandchildren: Dr. Deborah Fromm, M.D.; Dr. Stuart (Joanne) Fromm, M.D.; Dr. Christopher (Kimberly) Fromm, M.D.; Dr. David (Eli) Fromm, M.D.; and Dr. Ted (fiancé, Linda) Fromm, M.D.; Michael (Ginger) Grimmer, John (Dale) Grimmer, David (Margaret) Grimmer, and Lisa (Andrew) Britton; great-grandchildren: Jennifer, Nicolas, Chase, Jake, Nick, Osten, Addie Jo, and Drew Fromm, Lindsey, Chelsea, Sarah, Nicole, Kate, Eric and Ben Gimmer, and Marina Britton. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willard; infant children: Marilyn and Mervil Close; and infant grandchild, Thomas Grimmer.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 325 E. Franklin St, Appleton, with Rev. Paul Reinhold officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park.

The family expresses a special thank you to the excellent staffs at Renaissance Assisted Living and the rehabilitation departments at Colony Oaks, Franciscan Care and Rennes Health Care Center for keeping Dorothy independent and truly able to enjoy life. Further, a special thank you to Dr. Charles McKee for his continuous care.

Dorothy will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
