Age 81, passed away on March 17, 2002 at Brewster Village.
Dorothy was born on November 14, 1920 in Black Creek, Wi, the daughter of the late Arnold and Mary Stephoni. Dorothy was raised in a large family; the 2nd youngest of 8 children. On April 3, 1948, she married William Martzahl, in the 54 years they were together they were blessed with two children and 2 grandchildren. Dorothy enjoyed raising her children, tending to her plants and flowers, participating within church activities, the ‘picnic’ was her favorite, working with her children in 4-H, visiting with the neighbors, and cooking for her family.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, William; two children, Michael (Lois) Martzahl, and Mary Katherine “Trina” (Steve) Morlock; two grandchildren, Christine and Greg Morlock; three sisters, Marcella Rettler, Helen Murphy, and Caroline (Milo) Rettler; two brothers-in-law, Robert Martzahl and Gene Weyenberg; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lappen and Patricia (Richard) Siebers.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Polly Weyenberg, Isabelle (Cyril) Fries; two brothers, Leo and Raymond (Mary); two sisters-in-law, Lillian (Donald) Hopfensperger, and Ceil Martzahl; three brothers-in-law, Jerome Rettler, John Murphy, and Donald Lappen.
The funeral liturgy will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2002 at Holy Angels Catholic Church (W5831 Hwy KK, Darboy) at 5:00 p.m. with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church from 3:00 PM until the time of service (5:00 PM).
