Age 87, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2004 in Appleton. Dorothy was born in Manitowoc on December 7, 1916, daughter of the late Herman and Caroline (Tessmer) Schurr. On June 8, 1941, she married Carlos Froemming; he preceded her in death in November of 1992. For nearly fifty years, she and Carlos owned and operated Brookside Cheese Factory in Woodville. Dorothy was a longtime and faithful member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Woodville and belonged to the Ladies Aid there. She was an avid reader, bird watcher, and enjoyed baking. She also enjoyed puzzles and word games, scrapbooking, and needlework in her younger years.
Dorothy is survived by three sons: Carlos L. "Bud" (Lavonne) Froemming of Clintonville; Ron Froemming of the town of Harrison; and Dean Froemming of the town of Harrison; two sisters: Grace Luebke of Two Rivers and Leila (Arthur) Kromer of Kaukauna. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law Wilbert Luebke.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at ST. JOHN EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, N9125 Military Road in the town of Woodville with Rev. Paul Fanning officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 – 8 PM Monday and again at the church on Tuesday morning after 9 AM. Memorial funds have been established for the St. John Lutheran Ladies Aid and St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Symco.
