Doris Scheibe was called home to her Lord and Savior on December 25, 2020, at Cherry Meadows Hospice. She was born to the late George and Martha (Ahrens) Schabo on November 12, 1926 in the town of Center. Doris was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Center, where she was baptized, confirmed, and also married Gerhardt Scheibe on August 30, 1947. She had been employed and Zaug’s Vending in Appleton for over thirty years.
Doris is survived by a daughter: Sherry Lynn Scheibe; a daughter-in-law: Elaine Scheibe; four grandchildren: Adam (Kelly) Scheibe, Ryan (friend Destiny) Scheibe, Lucas Scheibe, and Rachael (friend John) Scheibe; and five great-grandchildren: Hunter, Dylan, Calvin, Lily, and Amelia Scheibe; and a sister, Lois Gerrits.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Russell on November 25, 2009, her husband Gerhardt on March 10, 2015, her in-laws: Arthur and Ida (Stapel) Scheibe, sisters Dorothy Schabo and Esther Schabo, brothers Victor (Erma) Scheibe, Norman Schabo, and Archie Schabo; a sister-in-law Elaine Schabo, a brother-in-law Eugene Gerrits, nieces Carol Geiger, Mary Grimm, and Donna Klatt, as well as many nieces, and nephews:
The Christian Funeral Service for Doris will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Star of Hope Chapel, located at Highland Memorial Park, 3131 N. Richmond Street in Appleton, with Rev. Andrew Frey of St. John Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will take place at the cemetery chapel on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
The family would like to thank the many special angels and caregivers who were so loving and compassionate to Doris. They include Dr. Hess and the medical staff at Theda Clark Medical Center in Appleton, everyone at Cherry Meadows Hospice, and to Pastor Andrew Frey and Pastor Mark Gartner from St. John Lutheran Church for their presence, support and prayers. We will never forget your kindness.
