Donna June Farrell, age 79, of Appleton, passed away with her family by her side at the St. Elizabeth Hospital on October 19, 2017. Donna was born on March 4, 1938, daughter of the late Leslie and Katheleen (Lowery) Rugg. She graduated from Wabeno High School and shortly after married Joseph Farrell in December of 1956. They would share 59 years together before his passing in 2016.
Donna will always be remembered for her dry and witty sense of humor. Donna was a wonderful cook and baker; no one left her home hungry. She also enjoyed reading and boating. Donna took pride in her strong work ethic yet always remained family orientated. She cherished the time she spent with her children, especially her grand and great grandchildren.
Donna is survived by her children: Dan (Ananita) Farrell, Russ Farrell and Bev Farrell; grandchildren: D.J., Derek, Michael, Marshall, Josh, Kari, Jesse, and Stephanie; and many great grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings: Laura Bethke, Leslie Rugg, Jenny (Ron) Henkel; her in-laws: Jim Farrell, Mary (Bill) Nelson, Josephine Brown, Claire (Chuck) Perry, John (Barb) Farrell, Tom Farrell, Robert Farrell, and Rita Smith; as well as many loved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by parents: Leslie and Kathleen Rugg; husband: Joe Farrell; son David Farrell; brother: Michael Rugg; her parents in-law: Walter and Isabelle Farrell; brothers-in-law: Robert Bethke, Bruce Smith and Don Brown; and sisters-in-law: Rose Zamzow and Barb Heintz.
The services for Donna will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the LAKEWOOD PRESBYTERIAN CHUrCH, 15552 St. HWY 32, Lakewood, WI, with Pastor R. Lee Jennings, Jr. officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment to follow. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
