Donald Voldsness, age 75 of Greenville, passed away on April 15, 2017 in Milwaukee, after a lengthy illness. Donald was born on February 9, 1942 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Julius and Mabel (Kolstad) Voldsness. On July 7, 1962 he married the former Judy Darkow. “We grew up together and we grew old together”. Most of all, Don loved time with his friends and family. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and playing golf.
Don was a sheet metal worker by trade. He spent over 30 years working with the tools and the last eight before retirement, serving as the Business Representative for the Fox Valley S.M.W., Local #18. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed the daily challenges. He especially enjoyed working with the young apprentices. Unfortunately, his trade also led to his illness from exposure to asbestos.
Don and his wife Judy are members of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Greenville where they have attended since moving to Greenville in 2007.
Don will be sadly missed by: his wife, Judy; his children, Scott (Cindy) Voldsness of Tuscon, Arizona; Shelley (Dave) Reiter of New London; Lori Voldsness of Appleton; Jason (Amanda) Voldsness of Appleton; Jeremy (Carol) Voldsness of Green Bay, grandchildren, Justin Reiter of Menasha; Jacob Reiter of New London; Tavia Voldsness of Appleton; Dalton (Krista) Jacobs of Green Bay; Seth Brunette of Green Bay and Aria Brunette of Green Bay, great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Symphony Jacobs; special family friend, Stacy Voldsness; sisters, Margaret Huff of Neenah; Beverly Darkow of Appleton; brothers-in-law, Jim (Cathy) Fox of Oshkosh; Robert (Meredyth King) Darkow of Hixton; sisters-in-law, Theresa Voldsness and Maryanne Voldsness as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by, his father Julius, his mother Mabel, his step-father Alf Berg, three brothers, Gerald, Jerome and Edmond, brother-in-law Zane Huff, Sr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, N2385 Municipal Drive in Greenville Wisconsin with the Fr. Dane Radecki, O. Praem officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 9:00am to 11:00am. Burial will be at St Joseph Cemetery of Appleton.
