Donald J. “Don” Vanden Wyngaard, age 66 of Little Chute passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, July 17, 2016. He was ushered into the arms of Jesus with his daughters, his friend and neighbor Deb, and his beloved dog Doogie by his side. Don was born on November 18, 1949 to Joseph and Evelyn (Nowak) Vanden Wyngaard. He was employed by Appleton Coated, Combined Locks for 40+ years. He retired in 2010. He loved to fly his airplanes and take long motorcycle trips. He was a fun-loving man who loved to tell stories and make people laugh. His ten grandchildren brought him much joy. In the last few months of life he enjoyed playing the game Trouble with anyone who came to visit. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Don was a decorated Vietnam veteran. During his service to our country he earned many medals, including a Purple Heart.
Donald is survived by his daughters: Melissa Vanevenhoven(Scott ), Tammy Hoeck(Dan), Lori Pynenberg(Fiance, Paul Sternig), Sandra Brittnacher(Jeremy). His grandchildren: Joshua, Chase, Rachel, Alyssa, Isaac, Wesley, Anna, Hailey, Nevaeh, and Maggie. His siblings: Wayne(Pam), Harold, Steve(Cheryl), Bruce, Mike, Mark(Jennifer), Mary Ann(Darryl) Baumgart, Barb Leach(s.f. Steve), Lois(Jim) Jansen, Ann(Dennis) Hoffman, Sharon Treichel(s.f. Larry), and Patty(Terry) Coulter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Vanden Wyngaard, Evelyn Hansen, his step-father Ralph Hansen, and his brothers Jeffrey and Glen.
His daughters would like to thank family and friends for being there for him.
Psalm 91:14-16. The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue them and honor them. I will satisfy them with a long life and give them my salvation.”
There will be a memorial Service for Don on Friday July 22, 2016 at 3:00pm at the Fargo Funeral Home of Kaukauna. Visitation will be on Friday at the funeral home from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
