Donald Richard Whitton

Donald R. Whitton, age 78 of Appleton, Wisconsin passed away on December 21, 2018. Donald was born to the late Richard and Bertha (Gustafson) Whitton in Menominee, Michigan on November 5 . He attended Washington Grade School and graduated from Menominee High School in 1958. He was united in marriage to the late Joyce Johnson in 1967 and spent 26 wonderful years together. He was a skilled machinist at Zwicker Knitting and Voith Inc.

In his spare time, Donald enjoyed camping and fishing. He was an active bike rider, even through cold winters. He was also a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Don is survived by 2 sons, Michael and Paul Whitton; 2 sisters, Carole and Marlea Whitton; 1 brother, Charles Whitton; and 4 nieces Alisa Joseph Deutsch, Justine McCormick, Cheryl Buersmeyer and Laura Joseph.

A memorial service will be held at 5 PM on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Wichmann-Fargo Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton, WI 54915 by Brother Mike Aniol. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 4 PM until the time of service.
