WARNER, DONALD O. “RUSTY”

Donald Warner, of Appleton, age 73 years, died on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at Select Specialty Hospital in West Allis. He was born March 12, 1933 in Appleton the son of the late Orson and Leone (Pekel) Warner. Rusty married Janet Kufner on July 14, 1956 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Appleton. This past July they celebrated their 50th Anniversary.

He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Rusty was a truck driver with Gateway Transportation and later employed at the Post Crescent delivering newspapers. He enjoyed helping family and others and was a “jack” of all trades.

Donald is survived by his wife, Janet; sister: Betty (Merlin) Luebke, Appleton; Janet’s family; sisters: Jean Wojahn, Menasha and Yvonne (Ernie) Meulemans, Kaukauna; brothers: John Kufner and Jim (Glenda) Kufner both of Appleton; sister-in-law: Margaret Kufner, Menasha; brothers-in-law: Norm Van Heuklon and Dave Van Ryzin both of Appleton. He is further survived by his dog, Penny, special friend and neighbor, Marilyn De Long and many nieces and nephews.
Rusty was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard Warner; brothers-in-law: Erv and Paul Kufner and Bob Wojahn; sisters-in-law: Mary Van Heuklon, Barb Van Ryzin, Margaret Kufner, Rita (Bud) Tedlund and Joan Sanders.

The funeral liturgy for Donald will be held on Monday, October 30, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 W. Marquette Street with Fr. Tom Farrell officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. The visitation is Sunday, October 29th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Wichmann Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and Monday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.
