Kempen, Donald M.

Donald M. Kempen, age 78, died Tuesday morning, July 12, 2005, due to complications of Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He was born October 10, 1926 to the late Martin and Delia (Hermsen) Kempen, in Little Chute and had been a Kimberly resident for 55 years. Don had been employed by Kimberly Clark Corporation and Midtec for 43 years. He enjoyed old cars, attended the Iola Car Show for 31 years, enjoyed playing sheepshead and NASCAR. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, delivered Meals on Wheels for 16 years and was a life member of 1, 000 Island Nature Center. Survivors include his wife Esther A. (Jochman) Kempen, to whom he had been married for 55 years; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Becky Kempen, Darboy; three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and John Calmes, Kaukauna; Kay and Lyle Vanden Heuvel, Kimberly; Kris and Bruce Le Noble, Freedom; six grandchildren, Trisha (Mark) Tetzlaff, Casey Calmes, Abby and Luke Vanden Heuvel, Amie and Megan Le Noble; three great granddaughters, Emily, Eliana and Elizabeth Tetzlaff; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Eileen and Robert Pagel, Madison; Laverne and Arnold Van Heuklon, Louisville, KY; Donna and Jim Wildenberg, Green Bay. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin, Giles and Harvey Kempen and two sisters, Audrey Kempen and Bernice (Ronald) Zenefski. The funeral liturgy for Donald will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, July 15, 2005, at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH РKIMBERLY CAMPUS, 600 East Kimberly Avenue, with Father Patrick Beno officiating. Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 12:00 pm (Noon), Friday until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.
