Donald L. Roland

Donald Roland, 83, went peacefully to his eternal home with Jesus on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at ThedaCare Hospital in Appleton.

Don was blessed with 3 wonderful children: T.Jay Roland (Jenny Addis), Rena (Michael) Anderson, and Kristie (Peter) Gill. He cherished his 10 grandchildren: Kalina Roland (Dan Van), Grant (Kim) Roland, Kayleigh (J.J.) Araiza, Delisa (Stephen) Everett, Cody (Sara) Chalue, Alissa (Hunter) Babich, Adam Gill, Kory Gill, Colby Anderson, and Ariel (Shane) Stevens. He also treasured his 13 great grandchildren.

Don is survived by his sisters, Bonnie (Jim) Haverkorn, Lavonne Carpenter and Sonya (Wayne) Black; sister-in-law, Anita Roland and brother-in-law, Bob Link, and he is further survived by multiple nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Adam Roland and Roxanne VanLandghen, brother, Gary Roland and sister, Diane Link.

Don enjoyed living “Up Nortt” in Crooked Lake where he spent time with family and friends. He loved his chihuahua dogs. His love for the rodeo and horses followed him into the nursing home where the staff and residents nicknamed him “Cowboy Don”. One of Don's many witty quotes: "I’m Rough and Tough and Hard to Bluff and Not Afraid to Die!"

A Celebration of Life gathering will take place on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 11am.-1pm with a service to follow officiated by Don's son, Chaplain T.Jay Roland, at Nicolet Memorial Garden Cemetery, 2770 Bay Settlement Road, Green Bay, Wisconsin 54311.

Don’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Little Chute Health Services and Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma for all their loving care over the years.

As an expression of sympathy, the family welcomes donations to one of the following charities in memory of Donald Roland. The Waushara County Animal Center was instrumental in finding Angel, Don's fur baby, her forever home. Rena, Don's daughter, is the Executive Director of Timothy's House Orphanage which serves 250 children in Kenya, and because of his love for horses, the Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation, Inc.
