Don Knuth of Larsen fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on November 29, 2022 at the age of 86. He was born in Milwaukee on June 4, 1936, son of the late Albert and Laura (Loewenhagen) Knuth. Following high school, Don spent one year at MSOE before enlisting into the United States Army, where he served two years. On November 8, 1958, Don married Joyce Bass and was blessed with 56 years of marriage until Joyce’s passing in 2014.
Over the years, Don held a variety of entrepreneurial positions and enjoyed being his own boss. Whether it was his television repair business, worm farming, furniture wholesale, the Deli Sub Pub, or driving a semi, he enjoyed the freedom of being self-employed. In his free time Don enjoyed spending time with his family. He also loved fishing and camping and was a problem-solver; never without a project. Don will be remembered for his confident faith, his calm demeanor, and his sense of humor.
He is survived by five children: Donna (Tom) Kuenn, Rob (Lynne) Knuth, Joanne (Brent) Nemmers, Carol (Sean) Schuff, and Jim Knuth (Darrell Thomas). He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Miranda (Alex) Leisgang, Morganne Sendek, Amelia (Hans) Thomford, Andrew (Emilee) Nemmers, Rebecca (Josiah) Kroll, Gretchen Nemmers, Nate Nemmers, Emma Schuff, Abbey Schuff, and Noah Schuff; five great-grandchildren, a sister Jean Wentz, as well as nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and a brother-in-law, George Wentz.
The Christian Funeral Service for Don will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, located at 930 E. Florida Avenue in Appleton. Rev. Timothy Priewe will officiate and Don will be placed at rest in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
