Age 64, died unexpectedly at home in Combined Locks on Wednesday, August 18, 2004. He was born in Little Chute on December 22, 1939, son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Eisch) Stein. On June 15, 1968, he married Sharon Jaeger in Symco, WI. Donald was a veteran of the United States Army and served at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. He was employed at Giddings and Lewis for 21 years and then at the Heart of the Valley Metro Sewage Systems as an electrical technician for many years. He was planning to retire in 2005 and looked forward to his weekends when he could go to Tilleda where he was building their retirement home. He attended Peace Lutheran Church in Tilleda. His other enjoyments included playing cards with his buddies at the Hornet’s Nest in Tilleda, cheering the Minnesota Vikings, and his nieces and nephews.

Donald is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sharon; brother: Gerald (Adele) Stein of Little Chute; sister, Carmen (Terry) Siewert of Appleton; nephews: Dan (Jean) Stein and their children, Christopher, Hannah and Collin of Sherwood; and Scott (Carri) Siewert and their children Joshua and Allison of Appleton; niece, Deanna Siewert of Appleton; mother-in-law, Laraine Jaeger-Schmitter of Manawa; sister and brother-in-law, Carla (Dave) Strehlow of Manawa; and a neice, Aimee (Greg) Mashlan and their children Makayla and Brady of Stevensville.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Danny Stein; special Aunt, Leona (Ervin) Robinson; father-in-law; Leonard Jaeger; and a step father-in-law, Raymond Schmitter.

The funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2004, at the JANSON FARGO FUNERAL HOME, 204 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Rev. Carol Johnson officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. A memorial service will also be conducted at Peace Lutheran Church, Tilleda WI, on Sunday, August 22, at 1:30 p.m.

Sharon extends a very special thank you to family and friends who have shown their love and support.

A memorial fund in Donald’s name is being established.
