Donald Frederick Howard

Donald F. Howard, 87, passed away on March 3, 2023. He was born on August 14, 1935, in South Dakota, the son of Frederick and Mary (Lenssen) Howard. Don was united in marriage to Norma Meyer on November 24, 1954, in Browns Valley, MN. He was employed with Neenah Foundry for many years, retiring in 1997. Donald was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed camping, woodworking and gardening. Don loved his family deeply and will be remembered by most for his immaculately kept lawn and flower beds. He was always on the go, and could be described as a do-er!

Donald is survived by his wife of 68 years, Norma; 6 children: Mavis Howard, Dave (Mary) Howard, Jane (Bob) Winter, Dale (Kathy) Howard, Darold (Shelly) Howard, and Duane (Sara) Howard; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; a sister: Genevieve (Bob) Mietzner; 3 sisters-in-law: Ruby Jacobson, Betty Meyer, and Dorothy Meyer; many other relatives and friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Infant Jerry and Ronald (Sharon) Howard; a sister: Beverly (Dick) Heck; a grandchild: Bobby Weber; and a great grandchild: Samantha Manos.

Donald’s family will great guests from 3:00 to 6:00pm, on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton.

Don will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
